2/3 found

Well, I replaced the white out and found my mug (it was hiding in a dishwasher that was marked “Out of Order”– perhaps an Illuminati plot to secretly take over all the coffee mugs?) The book is still MIA, though. I’m going to go wander over to Diana’s and see if she has it– she’s the most recent new hire for tech writers, and is therefore the most likely to be in possession of the book.

My friend from work, Shaikh, is going to NaNoWriMo, too! Wheee!

I had a long lunch today with Herb. Complete with beer. Mmmm. Beeer.

It doesn’t seem to matter if we make our halloween decorations fancy or simple. We live on a steep hill. Kids are too lazy to walk up the hill to get treats. There are kids who live next door (not even up or down the hill) who did not come over last night to get their treat. We did not get even one trick-or-treater last night.

I am a little steamed about this. We put up with their kids running all over our yard, playing in the street behind our cars (cause a street is a perfect place for a 3 year-old to play, right), and we even let our neighbors install a “slow children at play” sign on our property. And they couldn’t even be bothered to come by to show off their costumes and be neighborly, just one day out of the year?

People suck.

8 days to the exam.

Bored at Work

So, it’s 3:58 PM, almost 4 PM. That means, what 8 hours until NaNoWriMo can start, right? 5 hours if I were on the East Coast.

I am sitting here at work, thinking about how bored I am, and how much I wish it were 6:00 already. I did get in early today, but not enough to justify knocking off at 4.

My Picard mug is missing. I had it yesterday. I carried it over to talk to Milad, and back to my cubicle, without filling it up with tasty tea. Now it’s absent from my desk.

My white-out is missing, too, but I might have just left it in someone else’s cube. Or took it home on accident. It’s replaceable. I wonder if Cthulhu ate it, though.

I’m missing my big book on semiconductor technology– a terrific book I bought in April to teach me about my new industry. I probably loaned it to a tech writer, and I haven’t gotten it back yet. Did Cthulhu. . . . . nah.

Maybe Cthulhu wanted some tea, though.
