WorldCon Weekend
Well, WorldCon is this weekend. In fact, it started yesterday, but I still haven’t gone up yet. I’m really dawdling right now– I was working on my costume, but I burned myself with the hot glue gun and won’t have it done in time for tomorrow at this point anyway (as soon as I burned myself, things stopped working well, and the whole thing’s just a mess now–argh!), and I’m just. . . . I don’t know. I don’t know why I’m dawdling on getting up there. I guess it’s partly because I lack overnight accomodations and none of my friends are going to be there, so I kind of worry that I’ll be bored or lonely, which always sucks. Also, I missed the LJers this morning (10 AM– I was taking the cat to the vet).
Sigh.
And did I mention that my finger hurts like a MoFo? I HATE hot glue burns, because I can never get the glue off of my fingers before they cause 2nd degree burns, and then I have to make sure I don’t drop the glue gun on the sofa while I run to the sink. . . . by the time I do all that, I’ve got a pretty f-ing serious burn. Also, there’s nothing you can really do for the pain, aside from cold water and ice, and those only help while they’re actually being applied.

I’m sorry about getting burned. Hot glue guns are horrible in that way. My niece burned herself on the leg about a year ago with one, and it’s still healing. Just be sure not to rub it, and do all of the usual burn-care stuff, and you should be feeling better from it in no time. Ibuprofen usually helps, too.
Anyway, I just got around to adding you to my list. Sorry for taking so long. I’m not the most observant of people sometimes. ;o)

And thanks for the confetti. I hadn’t noticed or minded that you didn’t add me to your friends list. I added you to mine because we were kind of “neck and neck” in the Support Points for a while (but I’m sure you’ve jumped ahead by now– I took a week off!)

The snake wig just didn’t work, so I wore the pair of sculpy horns I made 2 years ago and went as “Horny Trailer Trash” last night.
