OK, they came through. One of the tech writers stopped by to ask me to lunch and brought over my present. Very sweet– a gecko candle holder (match the bathroom!!!), some candles, potpourri, and some caramel candy corn (which puzzles me, but ok).
I bought my nephew’s birthday present today. He’s going to be 4 next Friday. Yes, his birthday is a week after mine– I’m telling you, he’s the greatest.
Anyway, I’m going to be there for his birthday this year, which is so wonderful, I can’t even explain it. He is having a Spider-Man birthday party. This summer was a big one– Lilo & Stitch, followed so close by Spider-Man– he had a hard time deciding on a merchandizing to go crazy over!
So, at Borders today I found a Dragons coloring book, which I got for him, as well as a book that’s a little old for him, but he’ll love it anyway. “How to Draw Spider-Man.”
My nephew & I trade a scrapbook back and forth, and in it we put our artwork. Yeah, I know it’s a little hokey, but it’s a really special way to share something with him, and I love it. I “borrowed” his new “How to Draw” book and drew Spider-Man in the book, and then colored the picture in with markers, outlining in pen. It looks GREAT! I am so damn impressed with myself, really. And I know he’ll love it, too.
When/if I get a scanner hooked up again, I’ll post a scan of it.
