This weekend, I got fiscally responsible. I paid off all my personal and business (mine, not my employer’s) credit cards, and sent out letters to close my accounts. I may only have $155 in the bank today, but I feel good and I’m free of that financial burden. Yay!
Also, I got malsync, the Avantgo conduit for Linux, working on my Palm this morning.
Of course, I had time for this largely because there was a big dirt spill on Hwy 17 this morning, so it’s been closed and backed up all morning. I called in and told them I’d be late to work, but since I was planning to work late anyway, I figure it kind of works out all around.
Ooooh, I just got an email from the online school where I teach– they’re running payroll today, and it looks like I have about 10 students finishing this month– that’s about $680! Yay! I can pay back the household for part of the money I needed to pay the credit cards!
So, I’ve been kind of dance-happy this weekend. Don’t know why. Earlier today, I danced around my office to “99 Luftballons,” with John laughing at me the entire time– argh! I know I’m a terrible dancer– I look like a Complete Total Spaz when I’m dancing. I have to make an effort of willpower to not get discouraged and give up! Basically, I have to decide not to care AT ALL!! LOL!
Anyway, then tonight, I’m checking on the LiveJournal support board and “I’ve Got to Praise You” comes on. Well, John comes in and starts dancing around, and that gets me movin’, and the next thing you know, the dog is almost dancing, too! What a blast!
Hey, I’m listening to an Enigma song– “Back to the Rivers of Belief” and did you know it starts out with the 5-tone sequence from Close Encounters of the Third Kind? I didn’t realize that, but of course it certainly fits into the whole pop-culture feeding off of itself kind of thing.
What’s neat is watching the graphic equalizer while the tones come on– the GEq blips right with those 5 tones.
I think I’m going to limit the amount of time I spend helping out in LJ Support. I mean, I enjoy it and everything, but I have to limit myself to avoid burn-out.
