Well, yesterday I was informed that I’m part of the special project team– pushing up my deadline by 2 weeks (yes, cramming 4 weeks of work into 2 weeks of time). Whew! The special project is supposed to work this weekend, but I can’t. Sorry, but when someone has out of town plans for a month, she’s not going to change them to come in and work. Not when I think I can get the work done in the remaining time without having to come in this weekend. It’s tough for me, though, because I know I’m going to miss out on the important “face time” that’s so important to many corporate cultures. I just haven’t figured out how important it is in this one, yet.
